A Place Where Creativity Meets Community

Our sewing classes are the heart of what we do. They’ve grown into welcoming, skill-building spaces for people who love to make, whether they’re threading a needle for the first time or refining their craft. Teaching is our focus, and creativity is our language.

We run flexible weekly “Sew Anything” drop-in adult classes, term sewing programs for kids, private workshops for groups and celebrations, and hands-on school holiday sessions. Our Kids Fashion Design Program has become a leading pathway for young creatives in Hobart, with our 2026 30-week program now fully booked.

We’re proud to work primarily with second-hand and reclaimed fabrics through Circular Source. Sustainability isn’t an add-on for us, it’s part of how we teach, create and think about design.

As a community-based social enterprise, we believe sewing can build confidence, independence and connection. We develop projects that give back, and we’re always open to collaborating with sponsors and supporters who want to help creative education continue to grow in Hobart.

313A Elizabeth Street, North Hobart. Tues-Sat 10am-5:00pm.

Got Fabric You’re Not Using? We’d Love It.

If you’ve got a basket (or three) of fabric you’ve been meaning to do something with, here’s your sign: donate it to us! At Wild Stitch Studio, we give unused fabric a second life! We reuse it in our classes, sell it in our shop, where sales help fund our community programs. It helps keep our creative wheels turning and we appreciate it more than you know.

Drop-offs are welcome during shop hours at Wild Stitch Studio (313A Elizabeth Street, North Hobart). And if you’re not sure whether your fabric is suitable, just give us a ring or pop in for a chat.
