What Kids Learn:
Children (ages 8-17) select projects tailored to their abilities (quilts, toys, bags, clothing) with guidance at every stage. Our experienced tutors (Briony, Emma, Rose, Emme and Faith) are available for assistance. We provide tools, including sewing machines for hire, and supplies for a seamless experience.

Our Approach: We believe in kids' potential. Our classes empower them to create beautiful, lasting items right from the start. No cheap materials; we start with quality cotton and encourage safety, independence, and creativity. We value their ideas, making learning a memorable experience.

Philosophy: Sewing is a valuable life skill. At Wild Stitch Studio, we create a welcoming environment where kids flourish creatively, crafting lifelong memories.

  • Sewing Machines:  Sewing Machines: Elevate your child's sewing experience by using a quality sewing machine equipped with speed control, needle-down capability, and full stitch length and width adjustment. All machines in our classroom are ideal for learning. If your home sewing machine lacks these features, consider renting one of ours for just $5.00 per lesson. Unsure if your machine is suitable? Reach out to us for guidance."

Sewing machines without these features are usually not strong enough to sew thicker projects like bags and quilts, tend to jam and come unthreaded constantly through the lesson, and slow your child's progress.

Accessibility: Despite our goal to have an accessible sewing classroom, in our current location, the classroom is unfortunately up a flight of stairs. There is a small bathroom downstairs, not wheelchair accessible. If you have any queries about the accessibility of our classroom, please give us a call. We do have a mobile classroom that we take to different venues that are wheelchair accessible; please keep an eye out for those classes if you are unable to visit our North Hobart store
