Wild Stitch Studio — Community Minded Sewing School, Fabric Shop & Arts Organisation

Welcome to Wild Stitch Studio, we are a shop and social enterprise located in the heart of North Hobart, Tasmania.

Our Shop:

We specialise in natural fibres including cottons, linens, corduroy and viscose for sewing clothes and quilts. We have a large range of deadstock fabrics at affordable prices including scraps and remnants.

Come for a rummage to find locally made gifts, whimsical and vintage haberdashery, and sewing patterns.

Our Classroom:

We offer a variety of classes, private group bookings, and community art program. Our small team of Briony, Faith, Jackie, Emma, Yvette, Rose and Emme bring diverse perspectives to our inclusive and positive classroom environment.

Our Community:

We're dedicated to promoting creativity and the psychosocial benefits of sewing and arts for everyone in our community. In 2025 we are working with The Tasmanian Cancer Council, The Whittle Ward, Mates 4 Mates, State Library Tasmania and Motor Neurone Disease Victoria.

Sew Together for Palliative Care Week

Dear Wild Stitch Community:

In celebration of Palliative Care Week this May, the team at Whittle Palliative Care Ward in Hobart are transforming the ward into a beautiful textile garden.

Their vision includes vibrant yarn bombing with knitted flowers and leaves, a textile tree adorned with personal messages written on paper leaves and hearts, and a charming nest that children can use as a mailbox.

We’d Love to Hear From You
